For 30 years Redkite has been helping Australian children and young people with cancer and their families, offering essential emotional, financial and educational support through every stage of the cancer journey. In January this year, we partnered with them, pledging to help Redkite help the 11,000 children and young people in Australia who are cancer patients or survivors by raising $5 million for the charity in 2013. We’re happy to announce we’re well on the way to achieving this target with our customers and team members helping to raise over $2.5 million for Redkite so far.
These funds will help Redkite pay for essentials like food, fuel, counselling & education support, so thank you to everyone who has purchased our specially marked Coles bread, participated in fundraising activity, donated at the register (or online) and flown a redkite in store. Check out the photos below of some of the displays you helped to create…
Every day an additional four children or young people will be diagnosed, yet only around half of their families are aware of the support provided nationally by Redkite. Your continued generosity will help bridge this gap and ensure families aren’t missing out on Redkite’s support.

We’re proud to announce we recently received an award for our Foodbank Australia partnership. Over the last 10 years, our food donations have created over 10 million meals for Aussies in need.
Earlier this year, we announced our partnership with Redkite, a national charity supporting children and young people with cancer and their families. Redkite needs to at least double in size in order to reach all who need their essential support as there are families right now who can’t access Redkite’s support programs
Thanks to our Coles Community Food with SecondBite program, fresh produce bound for landfill is feeding hungry Australians. It’s a startling statistic – 1.2 million Australians don’t have access to affordable, safe and nutritious food. But through our partnership with SecondBite, a national not-for-profit food rescue organisation, 1.9 million kilograms of fresh fruit and vegetables and bakery goods have been donated by Coles to food agencies. They distribute or cook the food and serve to the hundreds of thousands of people in need of a well-balanced, nutritious diet.

This Australia Day, we are pleased to announce our new partnership with

This December marks the first anniversary of our national fresh food program, Coles Community Food with SecondBite. million people who do not have access to affordable food. Through our partnership with SecondBite, we are able to assist many small Australian charities in providing regular fresh, nutritious and healthy meals to those who need it most. We’re proud to be a Major Partner for Movember 2012. This November, buy a tomato, cucumber or capsicum from Coles and help Movember raise vital funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men’s mental health. Together with our Growers we want to change the face of men’s health!
At Coles, we’re very proud to support Landcare Australia and through this partnership we have donated over $3.5 million and supported them through programs, such as the Coles Junior Landcare Garden Grants, which has seen more than $1.2 million in grants donated to over 1,500 schools and community groups across Australia.
These grants help schools to establish their own garden programs and the program also encourages kids to learn more about the environment through outdoor learning! Schools have used the grants to establish everything from bush tucker and native garden programs to water-wise and sustainable garden initiatives, which has provided fresh fruit, veggies and herbs for school kitchens and cooking classes, as well as a lot of fun for the kids!

Have you ever wondered what happens to excess fruit and veg at the end of the day? Through our Coles Community Food with SecondBite program, we are committed to donating surplus healthy, fresh fruit and veg and bakery items to charities all around Australia. This helps to provide much needed meals to the almost 1.2 million Aussies in need. Over the next two years, this food will help provide over 5 million meals to those who don’t have access to a safe, regular and affordable food supply.
